Are you thinking about commissioning a painting?

It’s a fun collaborative experience!

Let’s get started!

By answering these questions, it will help me figure out your expectations.

Things you may need to know too…

1. I primarily work in acrylic on wood panels. I can also do drawings.

2. I will let you know of any concerns that I may have before any agreements have been made (and please let me know of any concerns you may have too!).

3. Should we decide that we’re a good match for a collaboration, I’ll provide you with a contract and/or invoice. Then I’ll ask for a 50% upfront non-refundable deposit, and the final payment will be due upon delivery.

4. Check-ins. Feel free to ask me periodically how things are going. I’m not usually comfortable sharing progress photos, but I can let you know where I am in the process. I might reach out to you in case I need more feedback about the direction of the painting. I value and appreciate your honesty. If there’s something that you’re not 100% satisfied with or the direction that I’m going, please tell me immediately so I can correct the trajectory.

5. Any work that I create, commissioned or otherwise, is copyrighted—I maintain all rights to the image of the commissioned painting. No reproductions can be made without my authorization, and I can go over details in the contract. I will share with you a photo of the final piece. I may use the image of the painting to advertise online and on social media. When sharing photos of my work online or on social media, I ask that you please credit me (@hemlocker_studio). Thank you!
